What is the project about?

WO consists of two devices that facilitate maintaining hygiene for people facing homelessness. Designed for public toilet spaces, especially toilets for people with disabilities. The first device is a washbasin designed to allow the users to easily wash their head, armpits and hands. The second product in the kit is a leg washing device. The product consists of a water head and a foot rest at the bottom. It is designed primarily for homeless people who move around the city during the day and often want to use public toilets. However, city bathrooms are not adapted to their needs (washing the most sensitive areas: hair, armpits, feet). The kit can also be used by: nomads, people with disabilities, families with children or simply residents in need of a quick refreshment.

For whom the project was created?

The main objective is to improve the availability of partial washing for homeless people during their daily, long journey between assistance centres. The main quote that guided our idea was: “When it comes to dignity, the most important thing is to be clean.” – Marek.

What is the aim of the project?

The main objective is to improve the availability of partial washing for homeless people during their daily, long journey between assistance centres. The main quote that guided our idea was: “When it comes to dignity, the most important thing is to be clean.” – Marek.

What was the motivation?

The topic was inspired by interviews with homeless people who mentioned that they lacked access to facilities to perform the activity as basic as washing.

Additional values

The product is designed for public toilets, so there’s no need to create new places, just adapt existing ones. Giving a new quality to the functional urban space. Highlighting the problem of inadequate urban spaces and support for homeless people.
