Woolnut

What is it about?
Woolnut is a compact object designed to support knitting in public spaces, such as on public transport. The project was created in collaboration with a knitter promoting textile upcycling, which directly relates to the idea of a circular economy—recycled wool can remain in circulation for many years. Woolnut organizes a mobile “workspace,” eliminating the problem of tangled yarn while offering a secure storage system for knitting needles. Thanks to its lightweight and intuitive form, the object allows for convenient packing and protects the project from external conditions, making the hobby more mobile.

Why was it created and for whom?
The project was created for handicraft enthusiasts who want to effectively use their time away from home while maintaining order and aesthetic workspace. The inspiration was the need to streamline the sustainable process of creating clothes from recycled materials. The goal was to develop a tool that solves the technical difficulties of knitting on the go—securing needles from damage and protecting yarn from dirt. Woolnut promotes an eco-friendly approach to fashion, proving that traditional craftsmanship in a modern, mobile version can be both comfortable and fully functional.
