“Toolup” – a vest for a painting conservator

What is it about?
Toolup is a specialized vest designed for a painting conservation student. The project directly responds to the specific nature of conservation processes—their staged progression and the cyclical rotation of tools. A key innovative solution is the integrated, inflatable cushion that supports the cervical spine, reducing pain during prolonged work on ceiling polychromes. The vest features a modular system of replaceable containers for binders and diffusers, mounted with original magnetic fasteners, which facilitates cleaning and the personalization of the workstation.

Why was it created and for whom?
The project was created for conservation students and professionals to enhance their efficiency and physical comfort. Made from durable Cordura and spacer foam, it ensures resistance to the harsh conditions found in historic sites. The goal was to solve problems related to back pain and the chaotic organization of tools. Thanks to the ergonomic placement of brush holders and accessories, Toolup allows for a smooth transition between successive work cycles, minimizing physical strain and the time needed for technical process management of the process.
