KÉNÉ African fashion magazine

Czego dotyczy?
KÉNÉ is an original magazine dedicated to contemporary African fashion, realized as an A4 format mockup. The project goes beyond the boundaries of a classic fashion publication, offering a curated overview of designers and photographers from various regions of Africa. A key aspect of the publication is its editorial layer—the conscious use of typography, the rhythm of the layout, and the precise relationship between text and image. The magazine’s visual language rejects Western stereotypes, proposing a polyphonic narrative that situates fashion in a deep cultural context. The result is a coherent, contemporary publication documenting the dynamic development of local fashion scenes.

Why was it created and for whom?
The project was created for readers seeking a fresh, decolonial perspective on global design and for creative industry professionals. The goal was to create a platform that “re-enchants” and presents African aesthetics, often reduced to superficial motifs, as a fully fledged, contemporary current in global fashion. KÉNÉ aims to educate and inspire, emphasizing the authenticity and diversity of the continent. Through its refined printed form, the project highlights the value of physical contact with a publication, building the prestige of the featured creators and giving them their rightful place in the discourse on contemporary visual culture.
