Ciągłość Konstrukcji

What is it about?
The project explores cyclicity as the foundation of furniture construction, using plywood as the primary material. The layered structure of the raw material—a record of a repetitive technological process—determines the form of the objects. In the shelving unit, the cycle manifests through the multiplication of modules, creating a vertical rhythm of display. Meanwhile, the table and chair set is based on the geometry of bent elements, whose parameters dictate the structural logic. The entire collection builds a coherent visual language based on material honesty, where the method of joining elements and the visible layering become the main means of expression, merging technological and functional cyclicity.

Why was it created and for whom?
The pieces were created as a tribute to the Polish furniture-making tradition, engaging in a dialogue with the legacy of Marian Sigmund. They are aimed at viewers who value craft precision and conscious references to design classics. The goal was to demonstrate the continuity of design thinking—from the structure of the material and the repetition of the module to the historical context of construction traditions. The author treats the design process as part of a broader cycle, in which old principles of wood bending and form-building are reinterpreted within contemporary practice, proving the timelessness of logical furniture solutions.
