What is it about?

“Zwolnij oddech” (Take a Breath) is a comprehensive social campaign dedicated to preventing burnout within activist communities. The project includes a series of posters supporting self-diagnosis, an information brochure in the form of compact cards, illustrated zines, and a short social media animation. The visual layer of the campaign provides accessible self-help tools that educate on mental well-being and debunk myths regarding social work. Developed as an independent student project for the Burnout Aid initiative, the system draws from its substantive resources and mission to support those engaged in activism.

Why was it created and for whom?

The project was created for activists who, due to the specific nature of their work, are particularly vulnerable to chronic stress and exhaustion. The goal of the campaign is to encourage reflection on one’s own health and to prompt preventive steps before burnout symptoms make further action impossible. Through an attractive and accessible visual form, “Take a Breath” aims to normalize self-care within aid-providing environments. It serves as psychological “first aid,” reminding activists that caring for their own well-being is an essential condition for an effective and long-term struggle for a better world.
