What is it about?

The project is an educational game dedicated to children, supporting the learning of the unique embroidery from Jaworzynka. The set consists of an interactive board with yarn, instructions, pattern templates, and a dedicated website. The project interprets embroidery as a cyclical process—based on repetitive rules and rhythmic weaves—translated into a child-friendly language of play. Created in collaboration with the National Institute of Cultural Heritage and the “Muzeum na Grapie,” the game serves as a modern tool for protecting cultural heritage. The system is designed for use both during professional workshops and at home, enabling children to independently explore local traditions.

Why was it created and for whom?

The project was created for children to build their cultural identity and awareness of local heritage through an engaging craft form. The goal was to create a bridge between old traditions and contemporary education, preventing the disappearance of rare embroidery techniques. By expanding the set with instructions and an online platform, learning embroidery becomes accessible and engaging, teaching patience and precision. The project aims to cultivate “living heritage,” passing down to younger generations the values of respecting one’s roots and the joy of hand-creating objects with deep cultural significance.
