What is it about?

ESPAMORY is an educational card game consisting of 22 cards dedicated to learning Spanish idioms. The project is based on matching pairs: a Spanish phrase and its Polish semantic equivalent (rather than a literal translation). Thanks to the set’s multifunctionality, the cards can be used for games like “Memory,” “Old Maid,” or as classic flashcards. The visual layer, featuring original illustrations, supports mnemonics, making it easier to memorize abstract phrases. The project aligns with the idea of cyclicity through game mechanics that encourage repeated practice—a key element in language acquisition for mastering vocabulary and logical structures.

Why was it created and for whom?

The game was created for Spanish language learners who want to move beyond textbook patterns and engage with the living language. The goal of the project is to diversify the educational process by introducing elements of competition and play. ESPAMORY requires deep information processing—the player must recognize the idiom, understand its context, and then find the analogy in their native language. The tool develops not only linguistic competence but also memory and cognitive association skills, proving that learning difficult linguistic constructions can be an engaging, repeatable process of discovering cultural differences.
