What is it about?

“Sto lat!” (Happy Anniversary!) is an immersive stop-motion animation project designed as a projection mapping on the facade of the Seweryn Udziela Ethnographic Museum in Kraków. The work commemorates the centenary of Polish artists’ success in Paris (1925) and inaugurates the Year of Józefa Kogut. The visual layer is based on an analysis of source materials—the artist’s batiks and sketchbooks—which were graphically interpreted, set in motion, and enhanced with narrative colours to create a dialogue with the audience.

Who was it created for and why?

The project was created for the residents of Kraków and tourists of all ages, using the egalitarian form of projection mapping to popularize the forgotten work of Józefa Kogut. The goal was to promote local craftsmanship and traditional manual techniques. In the era of rapid AI development, the work serves as a reflection on returning to one’s roots and the enduring value of hancraft heritage.
