Description

The aim of the work is to present the world’s largest religions to children in a reliable and accessible way. The motivation was the desire to educate children, because the author believes that conflicts and misunderstandings result from a lack of education, and that it is important for children to have contact with different people and their worldviews.

The process involved: choosing the religions and defining a framework for describing them, collecting information about the religions, creating a text that is informative and accessible to children, creating illustrations to complement the text (design process in InDesign) and creating tasks that will make the process of absorbing information more attractive. Finally, the author consulted a religious studies specialist about the content, and tested the accessibility of the text with a group of children aged 8–12.

The target group is primarily children aged approximately 8–12, but the book may also be informative for older readers. The intended recipients include also primary school teachers and caregivers.
