Plusk – portable shower

Description
Plusk was inspired by the innovator’s personal experiences in caring for an elderly loved one. It responds to the need of a complete wash with water of people who, due to mobility problems (age, disability), depend on the help of others and are forced to take sponge (or wet wipes) baths. The authors implemented the DT method, consulted with recipients at every stage:
- research, assumptions, ideation: 16 IDI / 4 observations / bench-
marks / personas / user paths / ergo - prototype 1, tests, evaluation: experiments with materials: collecting and draining water / 3D / tests in age simulator – 8 users
- prototype 2: tests, optimization: iteration/ changes in 3D and prototype/ 12 tests with users
- preparation for implementation: 3D instruction/ guidelines components for Plusk
The innovation solves problems with access to a comfortable bath for seniors requiring constant care, and for people who use wheelchairs permanently or temporarily. Its advantage is the ability to be carried to any place and the possibility of DIY production with the help of local craftsmen.
