TYPO – design of a series of typography books covers
Description
The author redesigned the covers of selected books on typography to make an accessible and complete series. She wanted to create a cohesive and visually intriguing identity that would attract potential readers. Her aim was to prioritize the use of typography as a key design element and combine both its informative and aesthetic functions. Ten spines put together create the word “Typography”, which encourages the reader to collect the entire series. The final project has a form of convenient pocket edition book prototypes. The first step of the project was to find as many typography associations as possible, by sketching and creating visual mind maps.
Then, the author tested different ideas and compositions in Adobe In-design, trying to find a cohesive and simple solution. The final step was printing and setting the prototypes.
