Self-examination – design of an application for breast self-examination
Description
Breast self-examination is the first, basic step in breast cancer prevention. It allows people to notice the slightest changes in the structure, shape and appearance of their breasts. The prototype presents the self-examination process and additional, useful functions. The application was created for both sexes because they are both at risk of breast cancer. The user is guided step by step through the process of breast self-examination.
After determining the form of design, the author started researching what applications were available on the market. The next stage of work included sketches and work on the functionality of the application, then work on illustrations, styling the entire appearance of the app, and introducing movement in two sample characters.
The recipients of the design are everyone with nipples. The project does not exclude any gender.
Illustrator was used for graphics, and Figma to design the interface and prototype the application.
