Each one of us is a story
Description
The book was created as a result of the author’s research on the history of her family. She has been collecting information about her ancestors since she was 13 years old. After her grandfather’s death, she was worried that most of his stories would be forgotten, and decided to write them down in the form of a book containing information she found in the National Archives.
At the beginning, she telephoned and visited the family of her grandparents to write down their memories. She also scanned old black and white photographs and edited them in Photoshop. In the book, the main colour she used is red. After printing and stitching together the pages, she made a red hard cover with a rectangular hot stamping inspired by photo frames.
The main target group of the project are the author’s family members, future generations but also other young people who can get inspired to start exploring their family history.
The author used Adobe Photoshop and Indesign. The book was bound in red cloth. The hot stamping was made using a linocut press.
