Marcin Nowrotek
Curator of the AGRAFA’26 and AGRAFA’24 International Review of Student Design. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (Master’s degree in New Media, 2008). Since 2009, he has been working at the Animation and Computer Games Studio at his alma mater, currently as an assistant professor. He specializes in animation, multimedia design, and visual narration, combining artistic experimentation with a practical approach to design. Co-author of many large, permanent multimedia exhibitions, such as “In the Spaces of History. The History of the City of Oświęcim” at the Castle Museum in Oświęcim, an exhibition at the Silesian Center for Freedom and Solidarity in Katowice, and the exhibition “The Age of Steam” at the Historic Ignacy Mine in Rybnik. His works combine film, animation, and interactive technologies to create engaging experiences for visitors.
He is the creator of the virtual gallery Silesian Design Icons and multimedia reports produced in cooperation with Gazeta Wyborcza and Polish Radio Katowice. His works have won numerous awards and have been presented at international animation festivals, including in Canada, the United States, Brazil, Brussels, Australia, and New Zealand.
In his artistic and teaching activities, he combines his fascination with new technologies with the development of visual narrative. He conducts workshops and implements interdisciplinary projects combining animation with music and multimedia.
