Michał Kopaniszyn (PL)
More than two decades in the field of film and new media, and I’m still trying to find the “skip intro” button in this endless film of life.
What started at the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland, quickly turned into a fascination with film narration and the art of conveying emotions through the lens of a camera. Instead of designing objects, I started designing stories by grabbing the camera. In my role as a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, I tried to transfer knowledge to people in a direct way, supporting them with the “how you do it” practice of working in multimedia instead of using 1000 words.
Now, as co-founder of Kopaniszyn Studio, my wife and I continue to work in the film industry combining art and technology. Over the course of our work, we have completed many projects combining the visual and the social, including mappings, visuals on water, street art and workshops for children. As a filmmaker, cinematographer and editor, I feel like an alchemist of creativity, turning ideas into emotions on screen.
Clients appreciate my commitment, but for me it’s more than a job – it’s a search for a deeper meaning in every frame, every scene, as if each image made me who I am. I feel great working as a filmmaker, cinematographer and film editor.I have the ability to guide people through the entire project process. I love to experience creative exchanges using the latest technologies and spice it up with artistic taste.
